Put it all on red...
A little tribute to 007 himself, Daniel Craig. "Skyfall" was the latest instalment of the Bond franchise and delivered on all accounts. Definitely one of my favourite Bond movies and at the top of the pile from 2012.

An update!!
Here's a new 3D sculpt of The Dark Knight using Sculptris. From this point, it has taken me just over an hour. Enjoy!

The Dark Knight : Gotham Revival
So I've become reunited with an exquisite passion for Batman all over again. After the Nolan movies, revisiting "The Animated Series", The newly released DC animated movies (Gotham Knight, Year One, TDK Returns Part 1) and the Arkham video games.
I went back to the comic book store and grabbed a fantastic series by David Finch, Paul Jenkins and Richard Friend called Batman The Dark Knight (The New 52!). The art is so incredible (David Finch) and the story is all the best things that I love about the Batman ethos. It just recreated the same obsession I had with this character years ago, that I only now can appreciate fully.
So having said that, I wanted to take a stab at a conceptual story-arc called "The Dark Knight : Gotham Revival" and this would act as the teaser.

The whole Shi-Bang.
Here is a nice little animation I did for TrendMD. I played cheif, cook and bottle-washer on this (illustrator, animator, voice over and sound-mixing). I hope you enjoy!

The Sly Fox returneth!
I'm starting going into a different direction with the sculpting. I think bringing my actual illustrative style into the pieces personalizes a lot more for me. Here is a little fox I had sketched out that I tried to translate into 3D. More to come!

Whats in your head?
So I've tried a little something different this time around. Building a female face and adding some fun mechanical implants/wires/plugs etc. Just having fun exploring the different creations this medium can provide. Enjoy!

More 3D Character Design
So the sculpting continues. Starting to really get the hang of things, and beginning to build out more features (such as this bitchin' pony tail). I like messing with the styles and doing something a bit more smooth and stylized. Onto a new one....

Diving into 3D
Well I took the plunge.
After years of procrastination and staying focused on traditional 2D illustration, I decided to download a great program called 'Sculptris'. After watching a video of how intuitive the software is, I knew it would be an easy transition of applying the same fundamentals of character rendering. I was right. It's been such a smooth process, and I'm really happy with the outcome. Here are some progress pics of the very first day exploring the program.
Character 1:
Then later that night, I couldn't resist another:
I think I'm officially obsessed, and excited... perhaps a new direction?

Finished.
Here's the final colour version of the mid-transformation of Eddie Brock/Venom. Had some fun with textures and lighting. Click to enlarge!

MORE VENOM.
So it turns out I can't seem to stop drawing Venom. I love exploring all the different ways he could look, and within different styles. Here are a few more works in progress....
